Celebrating national Volunteer Week
Posted on: April 14, 2023
This week we’re celebrating National Volunteer Week! The Eagle Construction and Talon Development team is passionate about giving back to the community and we are proud of their efforts in many ways. From helping at local charities to participating in clean-up projects, our team is always looking for ways to make a difference.
National Volunteer Week gives us an opportunity to recognize our team’s commitment to making a positive impact on the community. We are thankful for the contributions they make every day, and we look forward to continuing our mission of service in the future. At our company, we believe that it is essential to provide our employees with the opportunity to give back. We understand the value of giving back, both for the individual and for the collective team.
In January, we participated in the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RHMC) “Meals from the Heart” program. Kelly Evans, Director of Design, saw a news article about this opportunity, and knew it would be a great fit for our team. We provided smoked pork sandwiches, sides, and desserts for the guests at the Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls. We had the opportunity to visit the site and learn more about the wonderful service RHMC provides for families in our community.
Volunteering as a group has become an increasingly popular way to give back and make a positive impact in the community. By working together, groups of people can tackle bigger projects and make a greater impact than if they were to volunteer individually.
We’ve seen firsthand how volunteering as a group can be an incredibly rewarding experience. For example, we’ve volunteered for Feeding South Dakota, spent an afternoon rebuilding garden planter boxes at Laura B. Anderson Elementary School in Sioux Falls. We also had the opportunity to spend the day with area 8th graders for JA Inspire. This event brings together the business community and local schools to help middle schoolers understand different career options for their future. These experiences allowed us to come together and work towards something bigger than ourselves, while also giving back to the community in meaningful ways.
By volunteering as a group, we can come together to support causes that are meaningful to us. This allows us to bring our unique talents and skillsets into play while helping those in need. It also gives us a chance to build relationships with each other while working towards a common goal. We feel strongly that this type of shared experience can benefit both our team members and those in need of assistance in our local community.
We look forward to many more opportunities to come together as a team and help our community.
