Steve Boote, the CEO of Eagle Construction, started the company in April of 1998 at the age of 32. His creative and strong leadership has driven Eagle Construction to become one of the most well-respected construction companies in the area. Before forming Eagle Construction, Steve honed his carpentry knowledge and skills restoring historic homes along the Hudson River Valley near New York City. His love for design coupled with his deep appreciation for craftmanship are key elements demonstrated in his work product. Steve’s passion for giving back is easily recognized as he has served on multiple boards and devotes time to charitable giving and the Okoboji Kites Festival. A native Iowan, Steve attended Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, focusing studies on Mechanical Engineering & Physics.

Josh Kruger, the President of Eagle Construction, started working for the company as a laborer when he was 12 years old during the summertime learning the trade with guidance from Steve Boote. By the time he was 18, Josh was running summer projects for Eagle Construction in the field as a superintendent before heading off to college. Josh graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in Construction Engineering and moved to Minneapolis, MN for a few years to gain additional experience in the construction industry. In 2017, Josh returned to the family business as a Project Manager where he managed multifamily projects in the field and in the office. As Eagle Construction started to grow, Josh was promoted to Vice President of the company in 2019 and then to President in 2021. Throughout his time at Eagle Construction, Josh has been involved in over $375M worth of construction throughout the Midwest.

Lori Boote

Lori Boote is the Administrative Director for Eagle Construction, where she has played an integral role in the company’s success for many years. As a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in administration, Lori oversees many of the company’s key functions, including insurance and benefits, contract management, and volunteer coordination.

Throughout her career, Lori has developed a reputation for her exceptional attention to detail, her dedication to quality, and her unwavering commitment to helping her colleagues and clients achieve their goals. Whether she is managing employee benefits or coordinating volunteer activities, Lori always brings her A-game to the table.

In addition to her work at Eagle Construction, Lori is a passionate volunteer who is deeply committed to giving back to her community. She has volunteered her time and resources to a wide range of organizations and causes, and is always looking for new ways to make a positive impact in the world. Despite her many professional and personal achievements, Lori remains a humble and down-to-earth individual who is always willing to lend a helping hand. Greg Tryon

Greg Tryon is Vice President of Construction for Eagle Construction and has over 20 years of experience in the construction and engineering industries, with broad experience in residential, commercial, and industrial construction.  Greg leads the Eagle Construction team and oversees the current and future project pipeline.

A native of Madison, SD, Greg has a BS in Civil Engineering from South Dakota State University and is a registered Professional Engineer and Project Management Professional (PMP).

Greg likes to spend his free time working on home projects and attending SDSU football and basketball games.

Kelly Evans is the Director of Design for Eagle Construction. With over 20 years of experience, she guides the aesthetic of our projects from conceptual development to the finished buildings. When asked what she likes most about her work, Kelly said, “I love my job… Not any day is ever the same… I love the design challenges that come with each and every project and the opportunity to use my creative mind day to day. We have a great team of people that we work with and each day I continue to grow and learn new things in my career as well.”

Kelly grew up in Alcester, South Dakota and moved to Sioux Falls with her family several years ago. Outside of work, she spends with her husband and three children.  They love sports in all forms…. watching on tv, in person or playing.  She enjoys spending time with friends and family, volunteering wherever she can, and watching Hallmark movies.

Kristina Knudson

As Administrative Controller, Kristina is the hub and heartbeat of our office. She obtained her Associate degree in Business Administration from Green River, Auburn, WA. Her professional background is in aerospace and large-scale manufacturing. Originally from Washington State, Kristina moved to South Dakota several years ago.  Kristina is an active member of TUG and NAWIC.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son and their four dogs.

Matt Walters

Matt Walters is a Project Manager for Eagle Construction. He helps guide and manage various construction multi-family projects for Eagle Construction throughout the Midwest.

Originally from North Mankato, MN, Matt went to college at South Dakota State University for Park Management. While in college he worked construction part-time and eventually became a full-time laborer after college.  He worked multifamily and commercial jobs, working his way through the ranks in construction.

In his spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing with his family, while keeping busy with his children’s activities.

Derek Hillman is a Project Manager for Eagle Construction. Originally from Ortonville, MN, Derek obtained a degree in Building Construction and Construction Management at NDSCS.

With a strong foundation in the trades, he worked various construction positions and worked to become a Project Manager. Over the years, Derek has successfully overseen a diverse range of construction projects, including hospitals, commercial buildings, and even car washes (Silverstars).

Outside of work, Derek enjoys spending time with his family. Derek and his wife have two children who are actively involved in travel sports throughout the year. As an avid sports enthusiast, they passionately support baseball, basketball, football, and hockey teams from their beloved home state of Minnesota.

Liz Gabriel is the Project Assistant for Eagle Construction. Her role provides administrative support to the Project Management Team. She shares the same goal in providing excellent service to the community and successfully completing every project that is given to her.

She came from the Island of Guam where she studied Business Administration in Accounting at Guam Community College. She has years of experience working as a Travel Agent for a Japanese tour agency. Eventually, she decided to try a different path and ended up in the construction industry where she was mentored and able to gain the knowledge and experience as a Project and Sales Coordinator. She worked with several local and federal contractors for various projects within the Islands of Micronesia.

Outside of work, Liz loves spending time with her family. She is a wife and a mother. Being a new resident of South Dakota, Liz enjoys visiting different state parks and taking hikes with her family and simply appreciating the beauty of nature. She most definitely loves going out to eat and trying different restaurants. She is excited to grow with the company and looks forward to creating new memories and experience in her new home state.

Rick joined Eagle Construction as Chief Pilot in 2019.  With over 38 years of flying experience, Rick is ATP licensed (Airline Transport Pilot) and CFI ( certified flight instructor) in both single and multi-engine aircraft.  Originally from Sioux Center, IA, Rick moved to Sioux Falls in 1988. He enjoys spending time with his wife, four children, and two grandsons.

During the summer, Rick is a part-time aerial applicator (crop duster). He enjoys playing pool, camping, fishing, and dirt track racing.
