SIOUX CITY, Iowa — A new apartment and condo complex is officially open in Siouxland, and they celebrated with a special guest Tuesday.
Governor Kim Reynolds was on hand to cut the ribbon on the District 42 Apartments and Townhomes. Located in Sunnybrook near Target and Lowe’s, this is the largest complex recently built in Sioux City.
“We were thinking of doing this project in two phases, but the more we learned about the community, the more we spent time in the community, we just felt the best thing to do was to do it all at once,” said Steve Boote of Eagle Construction. “We opened the first half a few months ago and the 2nd half is opening in 5 weeks.”
Some tenants are already moved in. The complex is 66% leased and can house around 300 residents, with studio, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom options. There is a pool, community center and fitness area on-site as well.
